- Volunteers needed!
Everything to do with Eventing is time consuming. There are rules to be maintained, course design to be monitored, with safety the highest priority and of course running events to the challenging standards expected by Eventing Ireland. Many competitors are totally unaware of the numerous, long, and arduous tasks involved in establishing a small village, show-jumping and dressage arenas in the middle of the countryside. Military operations would probably not be more challenging logistically than these events. There are just so many pieces to the jigsaw of creating and running an event before, during and after to contend with, which presents a challenge to all concerned to complete the role undertaken to a high standard, offering an enjoyable event for all concerned. Competitors get to challenge themselves to the high standards set, owners get to enjoy their animals tested to a high level, grooms enjoy seeing their hard work gain returns and volunteers (often owners, their friends or family or competitor connections) get huge enjoyment out being close to the action and seeing the excellent horsemanship regularly demonstrated. For more information read the attached leaflet explaining the opportunities which exist, and keep watching the news itens for details of training dates.
