AIRE (Pronounced 'ARA') is the Association of Irish Riding Establishments, the body that regulates standards at riding schools and equestrian centres in Ireland. The association was established in 1974 and has approximately 230 members who own/operate riding establishments all over Ireland

The Irish Draught is the only native breed of horse in Ireland. It is versatile, athletic and intelligent with a wonderful temperament. Traditionally, it was the horse of the countryside. Because of its attractive qualities, the Irish Draught is well-known and much sought-after. The Irish Draught has made the Irish horse famous throughout the world. It is a foundation breed. When crossed with the Thoroughbred, the Irish Draught produces a high-class performance sport horse that combines the best of both breeds.

Established in the early 1960's as a family oriented organisation, the Irish Pony Society is noted for setting standards for ponies in Ireland through the improvement and protection of pony breeding promoting and encouraging classes and competitions for: •Show ponies •Working hunter ponies •Show hunter ponies •Youngstock •Breeding ponies These objectives are achieved through the Society organising a wide range of activities such as Shows, Meetings, Conferences, Seminars, Demonstrations and a Pony Register. Some 30 years after its formation, the Irish Pony Society is going from strength to strength. Current membership comprises some 500 adults and 450 junior members and there are over 6000 ponies on the I.P.S. Register. Approximately 100 shows held throughout Ireland are now affiliated to the Society each year. The Society is officially recognised by Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) as the governing body for Show, Working Hunter and Breeding Ponies, and it uses a joint measuring scheme approved by the HSI and run in conjunction with the Show Jumping Association of Ireland.
