The following are the Terms of Reference for the Amateur Committee


·     To provide growth and support for Amateur Athletes.


The purpose of the Eventing Ireland Amateur Committee is to promote the ethos of Amateur Eventing in Ireland. 

• To implement Amateur training days.
• To encourage and grow Amateur membership. 
• To update the Eventing Ireland Board on Amateur activities and initiatives on a quarterly basis

The Amateur Committee shall consist of no less than 5 members to include a Chairperson, Secretary and committee member/s. The group should if possible represent the geographical regions of Eventing Ireland. 
Each committee member shall serve for a period of 12 months and may stand down or be re-elected at its annual meeting.
The appointment of the Chairperson shall be decided by the Amateur Committee members at its annual meeting (to be held prior to EI AGM each year). 

A representative of the Amateur Committee shall advise the Eventing Ireland Administrative Manager of Committee appointments. 

The Amateur Committee shall be responsible for the eligibility decisions to the amateur ranks of any athletes applying to compete as an amateur.
The Amateur Committee shall conduct itself within the Rules of Eventing Ireland.
Due to geographical constraints, any decisions to be made by the Amateur Committee shall be done so by email, phone calls or Skype. 

The Terms of Reference shall be revised annually before the Eventing Ireland AGM.
