The adjourned Eventing Ireland AGM was held on Wednesday 21 February at SJI Offices, in Naas, County Kildare.

The AGM went extremely smoothly and the Chairman thanked those who made the effort to attend.

In her address, Eventing Ireland President Jessica Harrington praised the tireless work done by the event organisers and volunteers and wished everyone a safe and successful season.

David O'Meara, Eventing Ireland's Chairman also thanked the hard work of everyone involved in the running of an event.  He confirmed the €5/£5 increase in entry fees is going directly to the Event Organiser to help fund events.  He also touched on the increase in Day Tickets which was also discussed later in the meeting.

The Eventing Ireland Board Awards were presented at the Keadeen Hotel on 10 February to Sue Ryan and Colette Hughes.

Sue Ryan

Sue has demonstrated her passion and dedication to all aspects of eventing; as an owner, producer, ‘eventing parent,’ scorer, volunteer, dressage judge, XC Controller or event organiser.

In the last 12 months alone, Sue has judged over 450 dressage tests across 14 Eventing Ireland competitions in the Munster and Leinster regions as well as a number of Try Events and Combined Training days. For most people that would be enough. However, at most events Sue is witnessed dashing from the dressage arenas to the Cross Country, where she spends the afternoon controlling the XC phase and trying to control their commentator husband!  One of our most knowledgeable and committed eventing supporters, thank you Sue.

Colette Hughes

For the past 10 years, Colette has and continues to serve as Secretary and Committee Member of the South Leinster region

She leads the organising team at the very successful and very hospitable Kilmanahan event and assists with smooth running of the secretary’s office at other events both inside and outside the region including Camphire International, Grove amongst others, including management of the SLR dressage trailer and timing equipment.

Colette is a key figure in the organising and running of the SLR pre-season combined training at CoiLog

Always helpful and supportive in providing information and advice for many years , Colette is very well organised, efficient and does it all with good humour

Colette Hughes has made a fantastic contribution to eventing in Ireland for many years and this award is very well deserved.

The awards to the bronze winning Pony Team were also presented at the Keadeen.
