CONTACT TRACING – COVID COMPLIANCE

Eventing Ireland and the event organisers are committed to adhering to the Horse Sport Ireland and Government Covid-19 Protocols to enable our sport to operate under any level of Covid-19 restrictions.  Contact Tracing is one of these mandatory Protocols, together with temperature checks on arrival for every person attending an event.  The wearing of face masks is also mandatory at all times whilst on site.  Everyone going to an Eventing Ireland event, whether it is a training event, a national competition or an International competition MUST fill out a Covid Compliance questionnaire.

As a reminder, under Level 5 Restrictions, events should only be attended by Professional/Producers and High Performance athletes (elite) who are operating within the Sport Horse Industry.

  • Professional/Producer is an individual who derives a living from competing in the sport
  • Is a member of the senior training HP squad within Horse Sport Ireland
  • Amateurs/non-professional are not permitted to attend Level 5 events
  • No youth activity (under 18)

Under Level 5, NO SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED

Please ensure you fill out the correct Contact Tracing Declaration Form (athlete, groom, volunteer/official). The form must be completed in the week leading up to the event using ItsPlainSailing's Event Ticketing system (see more information on how to do this below).

On completion of the form, the system automatically emails you a uniquely encoded Ticket with a barcode. You must either print out and bring this ticket with you to the Event, or keep a copy of the Ticket on your phone and show it upon entry.

All tickets will be scanned on arrival to the event – no ticket, no entry.

This process is critical to allow Events to be held in the coming months, to ensure that Event Organisers can keep track of the people attending the event and ensure that the Event is run according to Government regulations (see the news item published on the Eventing Ireland website on 14th January 2021 HERE)

WHO, WHEN, WHERE, HOW?

WHO needs to complete the Contact Tracing Form?

Everybody attending the event, ie: Athletes, the groom (also known as person, parent, partner, significant other, friend, owner), volunteers/officials, caterers.   One athlete with one-two horses may bring one groom (person) only.  Athletes with 3-5 horses may bring two grooms.  The athlete must declare the name of each groom on their own Contact Tracing/Self-Declaration form.  Each groom must complete their own declaration and name the athlete for whom they are grooming for.

Volunteers and event officials must contact the Event Organiser for a specific link to the Contact Tracing form, they cannot complete this as an athlete or groom.

Under Government guidelines we cannot allow anyone into the event that has not completed the Covid Declaration.  There are to be NO spectators.

WHEN does this need to be done?

The form will be open 7 days in advance of the event and, unless otherwise stated, will close at 5pm on the Thursday prior to the event.  If you do not complete the form, you will not be able to gain access to the event.  Any applications for athletes or grooms after that time may incur a €10 fee.

WHERE can I find the Contact Tracing form?

Each ticket has a unique QR Code in it that will be scanned at the gate.  Please make sure that you bring a printout of your ticket with you to show at the gate upon entry, or that you have a copy of the Ticket on your Phone. To show a copy on your phone you can:

●     The ticket is emailed to you as a PDF file attachment, you can download this attachment to your phone and show it upon entry.
