Eventing Ireland has kicked off the New Year with a bang:

  • February and March sees a host of Eventing Ireland training events taking place across the country. There is Flexi Eventing in the Northern Region and Red Mills Combined Training (dressage and show jumping) in South Leinster, Munster and the Western Regions - the perfect opportunity to get riders and their horses slowly back into training.
  • Combined training days are open to all riders, including those who are not members of Eventing Ireland. Ever wanted to try eventing but thought you couldn't? Now is the time to go along and find out what Eventing Ireland is all about. Take part, get feedback and receive professional advice at these training events - for a fraction of an average entry price.

  • In addition, there will be Try Eventing events (involving all three disciplines) taking place across the country shortly. These are great training days for young horses or for riders who want all the thrills of an event , run under Eventing Ireland rules, but without the pressure of competition! More details will be announced shortly.
  • A new Sportsman C Class has been introduced in 2012 for amateur riders over 25, who want to start eventing at Intro level.
  • The Sportsman also have a training weekend in Necarne, County Fermanagh 3-4 March which will provide riders with training advice as well as a social weekend before the season starts in earnest. For more information on this, please click here: Sportsman Training Weekend
  • And that's just for starters.

  • Memberships prices have been reviewed, with substantial savings for some membership types. (for example, Horse owners paid €170 in 2011 and will only be paying €65 in 2012).
  • Horse registration will now be based on the number of points a horse has at the time of registering. Horses without points now pay €60.
  • There is a reduction in price for pony registration.
  • Entry fees for the Intro and Pre-Novice classes have been reduced to make eventing more attractive to all.
  • Day Membership/Registration prices have been reduced to €10/£8 members and €20/£15 non-members. Day Memberships are available to riders from the age of their 12th year and entitles them to compete at Eventing Ireland events on unregistered horses at Intro and Pre-Novice classes only. (Entry fees are in addition to Day Memberships)
  • There are 51 national events on the Eventing Ireland calendar which starts the season on 4 March with events running every weekend across the country until 14 October. Click here to find an event taking place near you: Upcoming Events
  • Eventing Ireland has 9 popular sponsored leagues running throughout the season, catering for all levels from Intro to Advanced - join Eventing Ireland and be a part of the action.
  • The popularity of international events sees Ireland host 6 international events this year, with Kilguilkey House making its International debut. Ballindenisk is hosting an important International from 25-26 February to help Ireland's efforts to qualify for the London Olympics. Watch the professionals in action.
