Eventing Ireland is delighted to announce that EDIX Saddles will sponsor the 2026 Eventing Ireland Leading Young Rider Prize, celebrating EDIX Saddles’ expansion into the Irish market.

Through this exciting partnership, the winning Young Rider combination of 2026 will receive the incredible prize of a comprehensive EDIX performance package: EDIX Cross Country Saddle, EDIX Saddles Girth, EDIX Saddles Merino Saddlepad, and an expert saddle fitting session from Irish agent, Jess Parsons, to ensure optimum comfort and performance for both horse and rider.

Leading Young Rider Mechanics

  • An athlete may compete as a Young Rider from the beginning of the year in which they turn 18, until the end of the year in which they turn 21
  • Athletes must be registered as a Young Rider to be eligible for the prize
  • Determination of Leading Combination:
    • The leading horse and rider combination will be the one achieving the highest number of points earned during 2026 at:
      • Eventing Ireland National Events, and
      • Home, Overseas and International Events
      • Points will count from competitions at EI110 / CCI2* level and above.
  • Allocation of Points: Points will be awarded in accordance with Eventing Ireland (EI) and FEI rules.
  • Equality of Marks:
    • In the event of a tie, the criteria for equality of marks is as follows:
      • Combination with the highest number of wins
      • Combination with the highest number of XC clears (jumping and time)
      • Combination with the highest number of SJ clears (jumping and time)
      • Combination with the best Dressage average
  • Announcement of Winner: The winner will be announced following the culmination of the 2026 season
