Leading Young Rider Mechanics
- An athlete may compete as a Young Rider from the beginning of the year in which they turn 18, until the end of the year in which they turn 21
- Athletes must be registered as a Young Rider to be eligible for the prize
- Determination of Leading Combination:
- The leading horse and rider combination will be the one achieving the highest number of points earned during 2026 at:
- Eventing Ireland National Events, and
- Home, Overseas and International Events
- Points will count from competitions at EI110 / CCI2* level and above.
- The leading horse and rider combination will be the one achieving the highest number of points earned during 2026 at:
- Allocation of Points: Points will be awarded in accordance with Eventing Ireland (EI) and FEI rules.
- Equality of Marks:
- In the event of a tie, the criteria for equality of marks is as follows:
- Combination with the highest number of wins
- Combination with the highest number of XC clears (jumping and time)
- Combination with the highest number of SJ clears (jumping and time)
- Combination with the best Dressage average
- In the event of a tie, the criteria for equality of marks is as follows:
- Announcement of Winner: The winner will be announced following the culmination of the 2026 season
