Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations for the 2025 Ballybar Groom of the Year award. After receiving multiple nominations, the award went to Leanne Foster.
Leanne grooms for Ian Cassells and has played an integral part of their highly successful season, with some incredible results on the world stage. As one nominator observed: “For her outstanding contribution to the well-being of the horses, Ian’s success & the harmony within the entire team, Leanne is more than deserving of the title ‘Groom of the Year.”
The over-riding impressions from Leanne’s nominations were her attention to detail and her thoroughness, ensuring that everyone, two- or four-legged, were well cared for.
“The horses are turned out in their finery whether it is a European championship or a simple dressage lesson they are always looking their best. She is a one woman show from a truck driving woman as well as having both horse and rider in tip top shape for each trot up. Leanne is so passionate about her job and gives it her all each and every day.”
