EI Board Communication : May 2025

Board Communication

The Board met on Wednesday 14 May and had a very positive meeting.

CLG Conversion

As advised at the AGM, there has been a delay in the CLG Conversion but work has now restarted and we should be able to update members further in the coming weeks

Volunteers

We are in the process of setting up a Volunteer Committee, headed up by Sarah Kelly-Drake.  The remit is to help venues find volunteers for their events, initially from the membership.  We are also looking at ways to better support volunteers, like training days, give aways/prizes etc to make volunteering a more social event.  Any ideas, please let Head Office know so we can pass them on.

People are encouraged to bring a volunteer – if we do not have enough volunteers to run events, we may have to stipulate new rules around volunteering, but for now, we are encouraging members to volunteer as much as possible.  This can be easily done via the Members page on the website.

Health and Safety

At the AGM, it was agreed to set up a Health and Safety Committee.  We have been working hard with Caroline Neville and Ray Hipkin to update our policies and processes.

Nine people have so far expressed an interest in becoming a Safety Steward, which we are delighted about.   Hi-viz vets will be given to the H&S Stewards, as well as our event Stewards, so our officials are clearly visible to our members.

The Committee is meeting shortly to discuss Medical and Veterinary processes and policies.

Sponsorship

Now we have a full calendar, we are now searching for sponsors to support our events.  If anyone has any new leads we can contact, please contact either Alison or Tricia.

Horse Sport Ireland

Members of the Board and the HP Committee met with HSI on 26 May to discuss plans for 2025 and beyond.  High Performance for Seniors and Youth Athletes were high on the agenda.  More information will be provided after the next Board meeting.
