Millstreet International Horse Trials will once again host a leg of the Burghley Young Event Horse Qualifiers.
The aim of the BYEH Series is to encourage riders, trainers and breeders to produce and present the type of young horse which potentially has the attributes needed to develop into a world-class three-day event horse, which one day may have the ability to gallop around the Defender Burghley CCI 5*.
The full schedule is available HERE. There is an additional supplementary prize fund on offer of €3000 as well as the prize fund listed in the competition schedule. This additional prize fund is funded by the Breeding Grant Initiative under National Breeding Services with thanks to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and delivered by Horse Sport Ireland.
Horses in receipt of this additional prize fund must be studbook registered with a specific breed documented within their studbook passport as per Horse Sport Ireland breeding grant initiative guidelines. The breed and breeder details must be included at the time of entry. This is in addition to the prizefund in the Burghley Young Event Horse Schedule & does not affect entrants who do not have a registered breed claiming the Burghley prize fund or qualifying.
Entries are now open via the Eventing Ireland website. Please note the following important information:
- Stables can be booked for the week at a price of €80/stable
- Horses entered in the YEH classes will be stabled separately to International horses, as per FEI Veterinary Regulations
- When entering, please note the breed as recorded in the passport, and the breeder’s name, telephone number and email if known
There are 30 places available in each of the Young Event Horse Classes. In the event of over subscription to the class, starts per rider may be restricted as appropriate.
