The Tellus team will be revisiting Co. Kerry , to finish the A10 2024 survey. There will be two manned survey aircraft working across these areas, each with the marking “SURVEY” and registration numbers C-GSGF and C-GSGP. All operations are in accordance with permits provided by the IAA (Irish Aviation Authority) who are in daily contact with the pilots.
The survey activities may startle sensitive livestock and distract or concern members of the public. Given the aircraft will fly at a low altitude of 60 metres over rural areas we are keen to inform and engage with as many organisations as possible to help raise awareness of the survey activity. We are providing a notification outreach service to those who contact us, whereby we will inform you when the aircraft is due to fly over your area. This will enable livestock to be monitored or managed appropriately and provide a opportunity to discuss timings of flights to minimise disruption.
Weather permitting, we plan to operate from mid-March to the end of Autumn 2026. It is important that you are aware of the aircraft, as it will fly at a low altitude of 60 metres over rural areas,
rising to 240 metres over urban areas. The sound of the plane is similar to that of a passing lorry and, as such, it may surprise or startle sensitive livestock.
The Tellus Programme has a Freephone Information Line – 1800 45 55 65 – which anyone who has any questions or concerns about the survey can contact.
